HORSEBACK RIDING

Karkloof Horse Adventures is located on a farm approximately 20km out of Howick. The farm itself consists of spectacular rolling hills and some steep gorges – there are six waterfalls on the farm. Although unsuitable for agriculture, the landscape is ideal for horse trails. The farm has two game farms as neighbours and is also close to the pine plantations near Karkloof Falls.

MOUNTAIN BIKING

Regarded in the MTB world as The best trail riding destination in the country, and the site of the annual Sappi Karkloof 60km Classic, Karkloof is a flat-topped kloof that includes the Karkloof Falls between Curry's Post and Rietvlei, on the Midlands Meander. This network of trails wind through Sappie's plantations.

CANOPY TOURS

The Karkloof Canopy Tour has been built in a spectacular valley of the mistbelt podacarpus Karkloof Forest Reserve. The Karkloof Canopy Tour consists of 12 platforms and 10 zip-line slides, the longest of which is 200m! A tour lasts approximately two hours, this is a safe, fun adventure for people between the ages of 6 and 80+ and includes refreshments during the tour.

FISHING

The Natal Midlands is one of South Africa's premier  fishing destinations. The dam on the property allows for catch & release, one can fish Tilapia, Bass or Trout. Alternatively, explore the various dams and rivers around the Midlands.
